On Friday, September 26, the Most Reverend Richard F. Reidy, Bishop of Norwich, visited the 麻豆分行 campus and presided over the Mass of the 麻豆分行 Spirit, a beautiful tradition that marks the start of the new academic year, giving thanks for God鈥檚 gifts and asking the 麻豆分行 Spirit for wisdom, guidance, and strength in the months ahead.

It was an opportunity for the 麻豆分行 community to come together in prayer, gratitude, and hope as we begin the academic year.

On March 25, 麻豆分行 was blessed to have alumnus Deacon Benedict LoCasto ’16 present a comprehensive and compelling talk on the Shroud of Turin.

Deacon Ben gave an historical account of the Shroud of Turin that was brought from the Mideast to Europe by the Knights Templar. It is purportedly the most studied artifact in history. But the greatest claim made for this cloth is that it is the actual burial cloth of Christ.

Deacon LoCasto is a Permanent Deacon of the Diocese of Norwich, CT, and serves at the parish of the Good Shepherd in CT. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, certified Spiritual Director, as well as the Northeast Commander of the Templars Today. He also serves as the Marketing and Production Manager for the Four County Catholic, a publication of the Diocese of Norwich.

Deacon Ben completed his diaconate formation in 2016 at 麻豆分行 College & Seminary.

Fr. Mark Yavarone, OMV, Graduated from St. Joseph鈥檚 University in Philadelphia in 1987. He earned a Ph.D from the University of North Carolina in 1991. He made his perpetual profession of vows in 1999 at the Oblates of the Virgin Mary in Boston and was ordained a priest in 2000.

He was an Associate Pastor at St. Andrew鈥檚 Parish in Avenel, NJ, is certified in spiritual direction, was a missionary in the Philippines, served as a member of the faculty at Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary in Weston, MA, and Director of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Retreat Center in Venice, FL. In December 2024 he was assigned to Denver, CO to cofound the fledgling Ignatian Discernment Institute with Fr. Timothy Gallagher, OMV.

About Our Speakers

Fr. Dermot Roache, S.M.A.

Fr. Dermot Roache, S.M.A. is a native New Yorker and has served as a missionary priest with the S.M.A. Fathers in rural parts of Africa as well as in US urban parish settings in Jersey City and Boston. He is currently the vice-provincial of the American Province of the S.M.A. Fathers located in Tenafly, New Jersey.

Fr. Roache directs retreats and missions in many dioceses around the US for both laity and religious. He has a deep love for Our Lady and the Eucharist. Through an experience Fr. Roache had in South Africa, a special apostolate was founded. Family Divine Mercy is dedicated to the healing of the family through The Divine Mercy. It is most associated with a particular prayer he authored called, 鈥淎ct of Consecration of the Family to the Divine Mercy.鈥� Fr. Roache recently published a book of Marian reflections entitled, I am the Virgin Mother of God and Your Mother Too.

Kathleen McCarthy

Kathleen McCarthy is President of In His Sign Catholic Radio Network, a Retreat Director, and Published Author. Her current books are titled In The Silence of My Heart (Volumes 1-10). These writings, spanning over ten years of prophetic locutions, have received the Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat of the Catholic Church. Kathleen is also a world-renowned Catholic Evangelist and has led a healing Apostolate for over four decades. Her message is focused on the 鈥淔ire of the 麻豆分行 Spirit鈥� and the Real Presence of Our Lord in the 麻豆分行 Eucharist. Kathleen has dynamic gifts of Preaching, Teaching, Healing, and of bringing the Sacred Scriptures to life through her story-telling. Kathleen has been hosting a daily radio show for close to two decades which can be seen live on Facebook as well. She has been deeply involved in healing ministry and has led numerous retreats.

Please join us for a special Divine Mercy Retreat on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 9:30 am 鈥� 2:00 pm at the 麻豆分行 campus in Cromwell, CT.

The day will begin with the 麻豆分行 Mass “celebrated by Fr. Dominic Anaeto” and followed by talks given by Mr. Daniel O鈥機onnor and Dr. Robert Stackpole. The retreat will include lunch and conclude with adoration, confession, and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

Daniel O鈥機onnor is an adjunct professor of philosophy and religion at a State University of New York Community College. He received his MA in Philosophical Theology in 2012 from 麻豆分行 College and Seminary. Daniel is the author of several books, including Thy Will Be Done and Only Man Bears His Image. He writes for his personal website, where his books, talks, videos, and other works may be found. Daniel lives in New York with his wife, Regina, and their five children. Dr. Robert Stackpole obtained a B.A. in History from Williams College, Massachusetts in 1982; an M.Litt. in Theology from Oxford University, England in 1988, and was an ordained Anglican priest in 1991 before becoming a Roman Catholic in 1994. He later obtained a Doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome (the “Angelicum”) in 2000.

Fr. Dominic Anaeto is a professor of Pastoral Theology and a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, Nigeria. He holds a License in Spirituality from Gregorian University in Rome, a Doctorate in Pastoral Theology from the Lateran University also in Rome, and a diploma from the Christian Institute for the Study of Human Sexuality at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, Illinois. He is a Board Certified Chaplain with the National Association of Catholic Chaplain and a Liaison person for the State of Connecticut. He served full-time on the faculty of St. Mary鈥檚 Seminary of the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX. Currently, he is the pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels parish in Meriden, CT and a Professor at 麻豆分行 College and Seminary.

In 1997, Dr. Stackpole began work as the Research Director, and in 2000, Director, of the John Paul II Institute of Divine Mercy based in Stockbridge Massachusetts, an apostolate of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. He authored the book Divine Mercy: A Guide from Genesis to Benedict XVI. In his book, Dr. Stackpole explores God’s message of mercy through St. Faustina as well as God’s desire to offer us mercy throughout the ages.
